What the Car Looks Like Now

Straight off the forecourt, a 2024-or-newer Mustang wears a body-colour car bumper cover at each end, a grille opening sized for the factory inserts, and a lower fascia that sits higher and reads flatter than the Dark Horse treatment. The panels are sound and the paint is usually good — what owners react to is the proportion, not the condition.

That changes how the job gets quoted. Nobody buys this kit because the original is broken. They buy it because the standard nose looks tame beside a Dark Horse on the same lot, because a lease car is going back and the next owner wants the car it should have been, or because a repair estimate on a damaged corner is the moment to upgrade rather than restore.

Look at the paired photographs of the car: same colour, same wheels, same angle. Nothing else was changed to make the comparison — only the covers and trim — which is the fair way to judge what a conversion actually buys.

It also tells you what stays put. The bonnet, headlights, fender edges and rear quarters are untouched, and only two replacement car parts change on the outside of the car. That keeps the paint shop matching colour on new panels rather than blending across half the car, and it keeps the workshop away from shut lines that were never meant to move.

Product Overview

One Kit, Both Ends of the Car

This conversion turns a 2024-or-newer Ford Mustang into the Dark Horse look at the front and at the rear: a front bumper kit and a rear bumper kit in one package, moulded in 100% new PP and supplied unpainted so the paint shop can match your car exactly. It belongs to the facelift bodykits, car body parts and car accessories we design, produce and supply from Changzhou, and it is the version we quote when a customer wants the whole car restyled rather than one end of it.

The value is in the completeness. A distributor can hold one reference instead of sourcing a front cover and a rear cover from two places and hoping the two read as a matched pair. A body shop can price the whole visible change on a single line instead of building two quotes. A dealer can put a car on the forecourt with the Dark Horse presence while the mechanicals stay untouched.

It is also built for cars that still get used. Nothing in the conversion changes the chassis, the cooling pack or the way the car drives — the work is covers and trim, which is why most of the installation time goes into prep and paint rather than into persuading parts to fit.

Buyers who order custom front bumper kits regularly tend to take the full set for complete conversions and a single-end kit for repair work. Both routes use the same mouldings, so the choice is about scope, not about getting a lesser part.

What the Kit Includes

  • Front cover — the car bumper cover that replaces the factory front moulding, in unpainted black. It carries the grille openings, the mounting points for the inserts and splitter, and the side marker positions.
  • Upper and lower grille inserts — moulded as separate pieces rather than bonded into one unit, so the grille can be finished in body colour, satin black, or left in its moulded finish.
  • Front splitter lip — the lower lip that closes the chin line and gives the nose its forward lean.
  • Side vent trims — the trim pieces either side of the fascia, supplied separately so they can be refinished on their own.
  • Side marker lights — the component photos show the kit with side marker lights fitted; tell us your market's lamp type and connector and we will confirm what goes into the box.
  • Rear bumper kit — the rear cover and its lower trim, moulded to the same Dark Horse profile as the front so the car reads as one build.
  • Clips and brackets — agreed at quotation. If your shop would rather fit new clips than reuse the originals, say so when you order.
  • Not included — paint, primer, clear coat, badges and striping. The kit arrives as replacement car parts in a raw moulded finish, and every visible surface is meant to be finished by your paint shop.

Material & Build

  • Why PP rather than a rigid composite — polypropylene is what most car bumper manufacturers choose for covers: it flexes on light contact and springs back instead of cracking, it keeps front-end weight down, and it holds paint predictably once it is prepped properly. - Separate mouldings — inserts, splitter and side vents are individual parts. A damaged insert can be replaced without buying a whole cover, and the paint shop can finish the pieces in different colours without masking one large panel. That is deliberately useful: you can hang them, check gaps and mark clip positions before anyone opens a tin of paint. - Consistency across repeat orders — if you order custom front bumper kits season after season, later covers are produced to the same shape as earlier ones, so a replacement matches what you already sold. - Repairable, not disposable — scuffs sand and refinish, and splits can be plastic-welded by a body shop. Ask us before you scrap a cover that took a knock. - What shortens a PP cover's life — solvent-heavy cleaners, heat guns held too close, and leaving raw panels in strong sun for months. Ordinary body-shop handling avoids all three.

Fitment & Installation Prep

  1. Confirm the car before anything is ordered: model year, trim, whether the front carries parking sensors or a grille camera, and whether you want the full set or one end. Photographs of the current nose and tail save a round of questions.
  2. Compare the sensor and lamp layout on the new fascia with your car. PDC positions, camera apertures and side marker connectors vary, and it is far cheaper to settle them while the parts are still raw.
  3. Test-fit both covers before paint. Hang the aftermarket front bumper and the rear cover on the factory brackets, close the bonnet and the boot, and read the gaps at the fenders, headlights and rear quarters.
  4. Adjust and mark. Note where the clips sit, which holes line up with the arch liners, and where the splitter and vents land; photograph the fit so the paint shop sees what you saw.
  5. Strip, clean and scuff. Remove release agent and dust, scuff the moulded surface evenly, and wipe down with a plastic-safe cleaner.
  6. Prime, seal and paint. Finish the grille inserts, splitter lip and vent trims in whichever finish the build calls for, then let everything cure fully before reassembly.
  7. Build the front bumper cover up on the bench — inserts, splitter, vents and markers — then hang the complete assembly on the car in one go.
  8. Finish with function checks: parking sensors, camera view, marker and indicator operation, and a walk-round of the panel gaps at both ends.

Packing, Ordering & Delivery

Send the model year, trim, the body positions you need and your destination port, and we will come back with part references, current pricing and the packing plan. Whether you are bringing in a single aftermarket front bumper or the full conversion, the quote is written against your car rather than against a generic listing.

Large covers need planning before they leave. Ask how the front cover, rear cover, splitter and inserts are packed, whether the cartons are palletised or hand-unloadable, and what corner protection is used; your warehouse's unloading setup should decide that answer, not ours.

If you are combining custom front bumper kits with other car body parts in one order, tell us early. Consolidation changes the schedule and usually the landed cost, and it is easier to arrange before production than after.

Minimum quantity, lead time, payment terms and what happens if a part arrives damaged or a clip is missing all depend on the order, so ask for them in writing with your quote and keep the answer with the order reference. Ask for product photographs, component lists and dimensions for your listing at the same time — it is the detail most car bumper manufacturers are asked for before a first stock order, and it is easier to send before you commit than after.

One more point worth settling early: bumpers and lighting are regulated differently in every market, so check the finished conversion against your own rules on bumper height, lamp marking and vehicle modification before the panels are painted. That check sits with the shop doing the conversion, and we would rather say so plainly than let it surprise you later.

Technical Support & Model Matching

Getting the right part is mostly a matching job. Tell us the model year, trim and body position, and our team checks it against the range we supply, compares part references and confirms what is included before you commit to an order. If a part does not line up during fitting, we work through the cause with you and agree on a sensible fix — a missing component, a replacement, or the right alternative. Enquiries are handled from our office in Changzhou, Jiangsu, for buyers in the US, Canada, the UAE, Russia and beyond.

FAQ

Will this kit fit my 2024 Mustang without modifying the body?

It replaces the factory front and rear covers, and the bonnet, headlights, fenders and rear quarters stay exactly as they are. The kit is built for 2024-and-newer Mustang, and we confirm your trim, sensor layout and lamp connectors against your car before the order is released. If your car has front parking sensors or a grille camera, raise it at that point rather than after the panels are painted.

Is the kit painted when it arrives?

No. The car bumper cover and the rear cover both arrive in unpainted black, ready for prep and paint. That is deliberate: the panels can be test-fitted and gap-checked first, and your paint shop matches the car in front of them rather than a colour chip. Primer, base coat, clear coat, badges and striping are not part of the kit.

What is the difference between the full set and the front kit on its own?

The full set covers both ends, so the car leaves the shop with a matched front and rear. A front bumper kit on its own suits a corner repair or a staged build where the rear is already done or is being left standard. Both use the same front moulding; the difference is scope, not quality.

If I buy the rear later, will it match the front?

Yes. Both ends are produced to the same Dark Horse profile, so a rear kit ordered later lines up with the front already on the car. Because these are replacement car parts made to a fixed shape rather than a hand-finished one-off, the match comes from the mould, not from guesswork. Keep the order reference and mention it when you reorder so we can confirm the specification against the earlier set.

Are the parking sensors, camera and side markers accounted for?

The fascia is laid out for the sensor and lamp positions visible in the component photos, and the side marker lights shown are part of that layout. Sensor hole patterns, camera apertures and connector types vary by market and trim, so send photographs of the current cover and we will confirm the layout for the aftermarket front bumper you are ordering before it is prepared.

What happens if a cover takes a knock — can PP be repaired?

Usually, yes. Small scuffs sand and refinish, and splits can be plastic-welded by a body shop instead of replacing the whole cover. Polypropylene is the same material family car bumper manufacturers use for factory covers, so repair methods and refinish products for it are widely available.
