Fitment & Compatibility
- Fits the left side of the front bumper on a Tesla Model S built from 2012 to 2021 in Europe-version specification.
- Match by the number on the original lamp. A US-version car, or the opposite side of the same car, takes a different unit, and the number on the old housing is the fastest way to tell them apart.
- Not a universal fog lamp. The housing follows the Model S bumper opening and the original mounting points, so it will not fit other Tesla models or aftermarket bumpers with a different cut-out.
- Front-end repairs often replace several pieces at once. If you are buying replacement car parts for a whole corner, put the side, the market version and the model year on one list before you order.
- Working on a car with a modified or non-standard front bumper? Hold the lamp against the opening first, or send us photographs of the original unit and its mounting points and we will check it with you.
Installation & Commissioning
- Switch the car off and let the front end cool before you start; the lamp sits deep in the bumper, so plan your access before pulling any trim.
- Access is from behind the front bumper. On many cars the bumper or its lower cover has to come off first — follow the vehicle's own service procedure and support the bumper as you release the fasteners.
- Unplug the wiring connector and release the lamp from its mounts, then move any reusable clips or screws across to the new unit.
- Seat the new lamp in the same position, reconnect the plug and check that the housing sits flush with the bumper opening before the bumper goes back on.
- Switch the fog lights on and check the output while the trim is still accessible; if the lamp does not light, recheck that the connector is fully seated — a half-engaged plug is the usual cause.
Applications
A front-corner repair is the most common reason this lamp is ordered: a kerb strike or a low-speed impact cracks the left fog lamp and the car needs a matching unit to go back on the road. Reconditioners buy it when preparing a Model S for resale and the front end has to look complete and consistent. Workshops servicing older European-spec cars turn to it when the dealer route is slow or the lamp is no longer held locally.
