Fitment & Version Matching
- Left-hand position. This is the left-side lamp only; the right-hand counterpart is a separate item, so each side is ordered on its own line.
- Year coverage. Made for the Model S built from 2012 through 2021, the full production run of the original body shape.
- Market version. A Europe-version lamp is what a European car needs. A US-version lamp will not line up with the same bumper opening, so order the version that matches how the car left the factory.
- Original aperture. Like the other exterior car parts around the front corner, this lamp is moulded to the original bumper opening, so it seats on the factory mounting points without adapters or trimming.
Model Reference & Replacement
Order by the number carried on the lamp you are removing — that is how the part is identified through the trade. The Europe-version left fog lamp for this Model S carries OE number 6005915-00-E, and we list it under our own reference 6160401015 as well. Shops that buy from several automotive parts suppliers usually want the number to match on the first attempt, so keep the old lamp on the bench until the replacement is unpacked and the two units can be compared side by side. If the number on your lamp is different from either of these, tell us before ordering and we will check what the car was built with.
Installation & Adjustment
- Isolate the circuit. Switch the car off and disconnect the battery before working around the front bumper or the lamp connector.
- Open the left front corner. Release the bumper fixings and trim that give access to the fog lamp housing, and keep the fasteners together in one tray.
- Remove the old lamp. Unplug the connector, release the retaining screws or clips, and lift the unit out without twisting the bumper cover.
- Test fit before tightening. Seat the replacement on the same mounting points, reconnect the plug, and check that the lamp sits flush in the bumper opening before the fasteners are finally tightened.
- Check both sides. Restore power and confirm the new lamp and the opposite side lamp light together, adjusting the housing if the beam sits high or low.
Repair & Reconditioning Applications
- Collision repair. The usual case is a front-corner impact that leaves the left fog lamp cracked, its bracket broken, or the unit dark.
- Moisture and failed internals. When water has worked into a lamp or the electrics have failed, swapping the unit restores the front lighting without disturbing the rest of the bumper assembly.
