Product Overview
The Mach 1 conversion front grille gives a 2018-2023 Mustang the deep, open nose of the Mach 1 without touching anything behind the front bumper. Cars that already wear a Mach 1 front cover use it to finish a conversion or to replace a grille that took a hit; cars being built in stages start here and add the cover, chin spoiler and splitters later. We build the Mach 1 front end as complete custom front bumper kits, and the same grille is available separately for shops that only need this part.
Material, Finish & Paint Prep
Polypropylene is the reason this aftermarket front bumper grille can be thin-walled and still survive daily use. It flexes under a knock instead of shattering, holds its shape through summer heat and winter cold, and keeps the assembly light enough that the brackets are not carrying extra weight over broken road surfaces. It also takes a knock without cracking at the mounting points, which is where cheaper frames tend to fail first.
Every unit leaves in a single moulded black finish, unpainted. That is deliberate: one reference covers every colour the S550 came in, and your paint shop matches the grille to the car rather than you holding stock in colours that may never sell. Keep the assembly flat and out of direct sun until it goes to paint, and mask the LED lens faces during prep so nothing lands on them.
Prep matters more than the paint on a part like this. The frame and the mesh need a clean, a scuff, an adhesion promoter and a flexible primer before base coat, then clear — the sequence a refinish shop already runs on plastic. Paint the grille before final assembly if the car is in for a full respray; on a car that is already painted, settle the colour match first, because a black grille against a finished body reads as a part nobody finished. It is the approach we take across our custom front bumpers too: ship it unpainted, prep it properly, match it locally.

Kit Contents & Scope
- Grille frame and honeycomb mesh — the main assembly arrives put together: the black frame with the honeycomb insert already set into it, which is the face you see once the cover is back on the car.
- Twin round bezels — one surround for each of the two circular openings, seating into the frame so the lamp apertures read as a single moulded shape rather than a cut-out.
- LED surrounds — the lit surrounds for both openings, fitted to match the LED version of the Mach 1 front end.
- LED wiring loom — packed with the grille so the loom that feeds the surrounds travels with the part instead of being sourced separately.
- Mounting brackets — the brackets the frame fixes to are included, which keeps a grille swap simple on cars already converted with our custom front bumpers.
- Fixing pack — the small clips and screws are confirmed with your sales contact on the order; tell us if your shop wants a spare pack held with the grille so the counter is never short on a job.
- Not included — the rest of the front end — the front bumper cover, the upper and lower inserts of the full assembly, the chin spoiler, the side splitters and the fog lamp covers all belong to the complete front bumper kit and are ordered as separate parts.
- Not included — paint — the grille ships unpainted, and the colour work happens at your paint shop.
- Fitment reminder — the frame is shaped for the Mach 1 opening; a standard GT, EcoBoost or V6 cover has a different aperture and has to be changed before this grille will seat.
Installation & Wiring
- Test fit first — set the grille into the cover while the cover is off the car, check the bezel gaps and the bracket alignment, and only then send it to paint.
- Take the cover off — whether it is the cover from a full front bumper kit or one already on the car, release the front bumper cover from the fender corners and the undertray fixings, then set it face down on a padded bench.
- Free the old grille — press the retaining tabs back along the top and bottom edge and lift the original assembly out; clips that break on removal are worth replacing rather than reusing.
- Seat the new frame — locate the brackets first, then work the frame into the aperture from one side to the other so the tabs engage evenly and the bezels line up with the openings.
- Check the gaps — the bezels should sit level in the opening and the frame should not stand proud of the cover; if one corner rides high, the frame is not fully seated at that clip.
- Run the LED wiring — route the supplied LED wiring along the original front-end loom, clip it clear of moving parts and connect it to the car's lighting circuit; where the plug differs from the car's connector, plan a small adapter at this stage rather than after the cover is back on.
- Refit and test — bolt the cover back up, switch the lights on and check both surrounds before the car leaves the bay.
- Fit after paint — if the car is in for a full respray, do the final assembly with the painted parts so colour and gaps are set together in one go.

Ordering & Delivery
- 2.
- Agree the commercial side — quantity, the mixed-model rules that let you combine grille references with our custom front bumpers and kits, pricing and the delivery window all come back on your quotation; minimum order quantity and lead time are set per order rather than printed on this product.
- Fix the packing and labelling — carton protection for an open frame with LED lenses inside, plus the labels your warehouse or your own customers need on the outside.
- Check on arrival — inspect the frame and both LED lenses before fitting, and report any transit damage with photographs while the carton is still intact.
- Keep the reference — reorder on the same grille reference so a second batch matches the first, and ask about replacement surrounds or brackets if a single part is damaged later.
- Agree the after-sales terms — warranty cover, return responsibility and how replacement parts are supplied are confirmed with your sales contact for the market you sell into.
Technical Support & Model Matching
Getting the right part is mostly a matching job. Tell us the model year, trim and body position, and our team checks it against the range we supply, compares part references and confirms what is included before you commit to an order. If a part does not line up during fitting, we work through the cause with you and agree on a sensible fix — a missing component, a replacement, or the right alternative. Enquiries are handled from our office in Changzhou, Jiangsu, for buyers in the US, Canada, the UAE, Russia and beyond.
FAQ
Is this the complete Mach 1 front end or just the grille?
Just the grille. You get the frame, the honeycomb mesh, the two round bezels, the LED surrounds, the wiring loom and the mounting brackets. The cover, chin spoiler, side splitters and fog lamp covers are separate parts, and shops building the whole front end usually order them at the same time as our custom front bumper kits.
Will it fit a 2019 EcoBoost, or does it only suit the GT?
It fits 2018-2023 GT, EcoBoost and V6 cars alike; the grille does not care which engine sits behind it. What it does care about is the cover — the frame is shaped for the Mach 1 opening, so a conversion front bumper kit needs to be on the car first. Genuine Mach 1 models are the one exception: their front end is already the Mach 1 design and this grille is not made for them.
Do I need the whole front bumper, or can I fit this grille to the bumper already on my car?
If the car still wears the standard GT, EcoBoost or V6 cover, that aperture is a different shape and the grille will not seat properly, so plan on the Mach 1 cover as well. If the car already runs a Mach 1 conversion front end, this grille is a straight swap onto the existing brackets, and it is the fastest way to replace a damaged grille without disturbing the rest of the front end.
Do the LED surrounds need anything extra to work?
The surrounds and the wiring come with the grille. What can still be needed is a small adapter where the wiring meets the car's front lighting connector, and that varies by market and by whether the car had lit grille lamps from new. Have your auto electrician check the connector during the test fit, before the cover goes back on.
How close is it to an original Mach 1 grille?
It is an aftermarket front bumper grille built to the Mach 1 pattern: the same open honeycomb face and the same pair of round lamp openings, made in polypropylene and supplied unpainted so the paint shop can match it to the car. It is not a Ford-branded part, and we do not describe it as one.
Can you cross-reference the original part number before I order?
Yes. Send the number on the part you are replacing, or the model year and trim, and we check it against the OEM front bumper grille reference we hold for the S550 before the order moves. If the car has already been converted, tell us which cover is on it, because on this part the cover decides the grille.
